Dear Parents and Cruisers:

Just a couple of updates and clarifications.

We had some discussion Tuesday night at the parents' meeting with regard to "soda cards" aboard ship. First of all water, lemonade, ice tea, coffee, hot tea and breakfast juices are free. If your child is a soda drinker however, there is a $1.75 charge per drink. If you have opened an account for your student (an option during the online checkin), your student can purchase a card, entitling them to unlimited sodas, using that account. For under 18s the cost is $4/day plus 15% gratuity; 18 and over $6/day plus 15% gratuity. These cards must be purchased after boarding and can only be paid for using the onboard account. If you don't purchase a soda card the student can still purchase soda with the onboard account, but will pay $1.75 per drink.

If your student takes prescription medication, please make sure that the medications are in their original containers with your student's prescription label on the bottle. If your student requires injectibles, please make sure the Cruise Line is aware of this in the event refrigeration is necessary. The Cruise Line will also provide a sharps container for appropriate and safe disposal of injectibles. Although our agent doesn't feel it is necessary, it would be a prudent idea to have your student's physician write a note attesting to the need for injectibles. Without it, Customs could confiscate such material.

We have informed you that each student will be entitled to three luggage pieces; two for checking(one of which would be an instrument) and a carryon. If you student has two instruments which he or she will be required to play, we will provide an additional tag beyond the initial three.
